Lorraine's Birthday Trip!! PART 1

As you may have seen on our Instagram we celebrated Lorraine's birthday in a 4 day bender across 2 cities...

Manchester and Liverpool you were the dream

In this post we'll review where we stayed and how we celebrated!

Manchester

As some of you may know we were both born and majority raised in Preston. Restaurants, bars, shopping is a lot better in Manchester so with it being just an hours drive from home we used to go quite a bit. Apart from going to WHP at New Years Eve Eve for Carl Cox we hadn't been back in years and instead of going abroad thought we'd head up for Lorraine's Birthday!!

The minute we got to MCR Amy demanded her usual from TGI Friday's... a Bubblegum Daiquiri. What we love and miss the most in the North is the lack of judgement to drinking ie. acceptance of our alcoholic ways. It was about 11.45am when we arrived and we went through about 4 cocktails each much to the amusement of the waiting staff - I mean can you think of a better way to kill time before check-in than cocktails?

Last cocktail sipped, we tipsily lugged our cases through the town centre to our apartment. We as always used Booking.com and the apartments name was 'Highstreet Townhouse'.

As you can see from the photos it was beaut and we would 100% stay here next time we come back (soon!). Other than the perfect interior it was also SUCH a good location; literally opposite Arndale (massive shopping centre) and a 15minute walk to Spinningfields/Deansgate - which is where all our fave bars/restaurants were located.

Major benefit of the apartment is that they have a partnership with the restaurant next door so you can get food delivered up with 10% off. That discount also applies to the bar too hollaaaa

Sunday

Lola Los - Tiki themed bar - was pretty live for a sunday night and was playing proper cheesy music which we had ALL the time for lol

Alchemist - okay we have mixed reviews about this place, we've been to the one in London too and our opinion hasn't changed. Cocktails are yum and yes they are beautiful however we don't think the high prices are deserved to be honest. We would go again but not a pre-drinks kind of venue!

Monday - BIRTHDAYYYY

Breakfast at 'Federal Cafe Bar' - cool all day brunch diner,  really chilled out plus they were more than happy to make us 3 Espresso Cocktails = brownie points

Pre-Birthday

It's just been Lorraine's birthday! Hollaaaaaaa
We've just taken a little trip back t'up north for a couple of days.
National Express gave us 50% off sooo it cost pennies plus we took a cheeky diversion to Liverpool for a day which was a £3 train B A R G A I N

Due to the fact we were away on Monday (actual birth date) - the family decided to celebrate early and decorated the lounge all cute with balloons and gifts
Last week involved a lot of pre-birthday surprises like Lorraine's gals at work, boots and cats if you're reading this ladies, decided to spoil her with pizza and gifts which was totally out of the blue on Thursday! Not trying to show off (well maybe a little) but we had to share the treats:
It would be rude not to book another holiday to show off my passport in this badboy wouldn't it?
This book offers support in all area of Lorraine's life that are a mess: social, work, bedroom, diet need we go on
Better wear them and find out?
Lastly our Mum took us out for a cocktails and cinema date on Friday before to celebrate. I mean who doesn't love sitting in a cinema completely sloshed, the people sat around us I'm guessing but yolo. Literally everything in the adverts was hilarious and the dirty looks didn't bother us three at all, until the morning after when we realised how loud our giggles may have actually been...
TIP - we ordered cocktails at Giraffe then ordered 5 tapas plates when we got peckish - it isn't on the menu but if you order 5 tapas you get a free bottle of wine!! Thank us later

We decided to watch 'Baby Driver' on a whim and completely recommend it! The cast was perfect, and everyone has a trait that makes them likeable. Except Jamie Fox - was so strange hating him in a film! It's comedy/action with loads of driving stunts which we had all the time for as we LOVE the Fast and Furious franchise. Definitely give it a watch guys.

We apologize for not blogging in a while but we decided not to lug the macbook with us. We're sure you all saw all our little excursions and questionable antics in the meantime through our Instagrams and Snapchats!

We'll do another post this weekend of the actual break!!

Festival Guide: Hideout Festival 2017

Hideout Festival Zcre Beach 2017

If any of you lovely lot follow us on Instagram you'll be well aware that we recently came back from Hideout Festival in Croatia *holds back tears* This was one of the most crazy, beautiful, messy weeks of our lives and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat! This is going to be quite a big post so bear with, mainly here to help anyone considering going for 2018

Travel

Hideout Festival takes place at Zcre Beach on the isle of pag in Novalja, Croatia. The major downside of this festival is that the location is a mare to get to from all nearby airports but a small price to pay once you arrive there. There are 4 nearby airports each ranging in hours to drive to Novalja. We decided to fly to Split (second closest) and booked the 3hr coach transfer (through the festival website).

Other airports:
Zagreb, Pula, Zadar

Novalja Beach Yachts Sea

Transfers

Recommend: It was on time and kept to the 3hr schedule

We had an hour wait after landing before the coach transfer and we were panicking a bit as we weren't sure where the coaches would park/pick us up. Just a heads up it'll be exactly opposite the arrivals doors, literally leave the airport cross the road, down the ramp and booom carpark opposite you x

Novalja Bus Station Transfer Hideout Festival
Lorraine looking less than impressed waiting for transfer home
We booked through the official Hideout website and boy were we glad we did! May have been slightly more expensive than an external provider buuuut we saw literally 3 different groups at the bus station (before journey home) who's buses were super late and they had flights PLUS one poor group of lads had been left behind (their bus had left early and emailed them but obviously no-one was checking their emails whilst getting messy in the sun for a week?!) so yeah we were just glad it was the festival in charge of ours so we can't really fault their organisation.

Shuttle

Hideout Festival Shuttle

This cost £40 and we have mixed feelings about it to be honest.

Pros:
We met so many fun people on here and ended up bumping into them again throughout the holiday
Atmosphere is soo good like you're all drunk whether its 3pm or 4am and hyped for the acts or afters

Cons:
So so sooo packed in the day and no air con just tiny windows open so its not cute and quite stressful as you sober up and make up starts to drip down your face

Red line - bus stop was perfection for our apartment HOWEVER shuttle back to novalja from Zcre Beach on this line was so unfrequent, it was absolutely ridiculous around 40 minute wait and you had to shove to get on. Blue line had about 2 every 10 minutes *rolls eyes*

Accomodation
Apartments Barbara hit gold when it came to this place especially as we only booked it about 2 months before the festival!
