If any of you lovely lot follow us on Instagram you'll be well aware that we recently came back from Hideout Festival in Croatia *holds back tears* This was one of the most crazy, beautiful, messy weeks of our lives and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat! This is going to be quite a big post so bear with, mainly here to help anyone considering going for 2018
Travel
Hideout Festival takes place at Zcre Beach on the isle of pag in Novalja, Croatia. The major downside of this festival is that the location is a mare to get to from all nearby airports but a small price to pay once you arrive there. There are 4 nearby airports each ranging in hours to drive to Novalja. We decided to fly to Split (second closest) and booked the 3hr coach transfer (through the festival website).
Other airports:Zagreb, Pula, Zadar
Transfers
Recommend: It was on time and kept to the 3hr schedule
We had an hour wait after landing before the coach transfer and we were panicking a bit as we weren't sure where the coaches would park/pick us up. Just a heads up it'll be exactly opposite the arrivals doors, literally leave the airport cross the road, down the ramp and booom carpark opposite you x

We booked through the official Hideout website and boy were we glad we did! May have been slightly more expensive than an external provider buuuut we saw literally 3 different groups at the bus station (before journey home) who's buses were super late and they had flights PLUS one poor group of lads had been left behind (their bus had left early and emailed them but obviously no-one was checking their emails whilst getting messy in the sun for a week?!) so yeah we were just glad it was the festival in charge of ours so we can't really fault their organisation.
Shuttle
This cost £40 and we have mixed feelings about it to be honest.
Pros:
We met so many fun people on here and ended up bumping into them again throughout the holiday
Atmosphere is soo good like you're all drunk whether its 3pm or 4am and hyped for the acts or afters
Cons:
So so sooo packed in the day and no air con just tiny windows open so its not cute and quite stressful as you sober up and make up starts to drip down your face
Red line - bus stop was perfection for our apartment HOWEVER shuttle back to novalja from Zcre Beach on this line was so unfrequent, it was absolutely ridiculous around 40 minute wait and you had to shove to get on. Blue line had about 2 every 10 minutes *rolls eyes*
Accomodation
Apartments Barbara hit gold when it came to this place especially as we only booked it about 2 months before the festival!
3min walk to a shuttle stop (big up red line)
Just under a 15minute walk along the sea to get to a supermarket aswell as Novalja centre
6 apartments in the building and all of us were staying at hideout, we pre-drank with 2 of the other flats sometimes and it was so cute (as cute as any activities in Hideout can be haah)
Aircon - need we say more
Mahooosive balcony
Only downsides are that the wifi barely worked (hence my slow snapchat uploads and insta spam) alsoooo first day we got the speakers out and had a noise complaint by locals leading to the apartment hosts having to moped over and tell us to turn it down B O R I N G. Funniest part is that they had to knock on about 4 of the apartments because we all had our speakers out haha and the locals (apartments were a good few metres away) starting ringing the apartments group having a mare! We'd 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone going!!!
Pre-Party
Cocomo - in the centre of Novalja
Seeing as we'd been to the pre-party at AMP fest we just knew Hideout would do one too, after twitter confirmed this we figured out it was 15minute walk from our apartment hollaaa we went quite early and danced super close to the front so didn't realise how packed it truly got till we decided to head home at around 3am.
It was a proper holiday kind of club with podiums and balconies and cheap tequila shots *sighs* Amy was of course up on that podium in quick time
DEFINETLY recommend you go to the pre-party wherever it may be next year, start as you mean to go on boo!
Stages
Normal festivals have stages, Hideout has individual clubs with stages :O yes it's that bloody cool.
Noa - our absolute favourite and home during the pool parties really
It is built of wooden decking and is literally overhanging over the sea - boootiful like when can you say you've raved over the mofo sea in 30c in a sequinned bikini? Lads please reach out if you have indeed done this haha
Managed to wing our way onto a VIP table in this venue aswell which also helps make it our fave lol Gals just get yourself on one of the palm tree podiums, dance your heart out and smile - thank us later xoxo
Papaya - Largest venue and where the majority of the big names perform in the evening.
Aquarius - Almost every single one of our favourite acts performed here so we well up at the thought of it. We're talking my nu leng, hannah wants, MK, Hot Since 82, Disciples
Elrow - this stage was at the complete opposite end to all the other venues so we kept forgetting about it and didn't force ourselves to go until the last day and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT.
There was basically a monsooon on the last day (typical! Especially as we'd saved our best outfits till last) so when we arrived in Elrow loads of people were hiding from the rain near the bar. Us being the animals that we are decided to put our hoods up and start dancing in the rain regardless.
This led to us being invited behind the desks and getting to dance whilst the likes of Eats Everything, Mele and Redlight to name a few went b2b ahhh it was heaven! Definitely up there in our top 5 moments of the holiday <3

Novalja and Locals
Novalja has the most beautiful sunsets we've seen in a while. Sunrise is equally beaut but we can gurantee you won't be if you're still out watching it from Zcre Beach at 5am ya filthy animals

Sunset however....
All the locals we came across in the supermarkets and corner shops were lovely though! We went for a nice meal in Novalja centre (failed attempt to regain our class and normality) on the Saturday and the centre was heaving with people still. A lot of people fly out Saturday morning because obviously the festival ends Friday but we learnt from AMP and stayed an extra 2 days. The waiters know that all the Brits are wild and after we'd finished the bottle of wine he pressured Amy and I into 2 honey based vodka shots each - shout out to Andrej <3
Overall
BLOODY LOVED IT! We are soooooo tempted to go back 2018 and are only hesitation is because there are a hella lot more international festivals we have on our list so we're undecided whether we'll be heading over to Croatia in 11 months?! We booked this years tickets when we got pissed on wine on a boring Wednedsay night sooooo god help us
