4 places you must visit in Genoa

1. Piazza De Ferrari Fountain

Right in the centre of Genoa is a square called Piazza De Ferrari, which full of beautiful stone buildings and right in the middle of the main square is a fountain. It is so picturesque and at night coloured lights are displayed within the water. Although this is a tourist spot it is not too crowded. We went both in the day and evening and everyone that sits around the square is a mixture of locals and tourists enjoying a chat and majority eating the gorgeous gelato.

Lorraine sat outside the fountain trying to take 'edgy' snapchats

Nearest metro stop: De Ferrari

2. Profumo di Rosa

On the topic of gelato you MUST MUST MUST visit Profumo di Rosa. Now we're not trying to brag but we consider ourselves gelato connoisseurs at the minimum - we've been blessed to try gelato in Venice, Lake Gada, Verona, Barcelona, London, Milan but this gelato parlour trumped them all!!

The lady is sooo lovely and gave us a ridiculous amount of free samples on a little spoon until both Amy and I finally made our minds up.

Nearest metro stop: De Ferrari

3. Broadside Sushi Concept

Now I know you're probably thinking Sushi in Italy?! But one thing you'll soon learn about Amy and I is that we are addicted to sushi plus one can only have so much pasta...

This restaurant is upper market so dress up people! It's not pretentious though and the staff are lovely. Price wise this will set you back a bit depending on how much sushi you order - we ordered the tempura maki which was to die for! And we shared wine till closing. For some reason there are random clothing racks - but we kinda liked it, added to the chic feel!

4. Port/Harbour - super yachts - that cool tube thing

The Port of Genoa is one of the major ports of Italy and is absolutely stunning especially at sunset and sunrise.

Our hotel room (Holiday Inn) looked over the port and the view was insane, but this can be reached from any highpoint in Genoa. In the port there are massive cargo and crusie ships but if you walk further down close the harbour there are super yachts and lush restuarants. There is also a really random concrete tube with lots of grafitti in which actually makes for a really good photo:

Amy - took about 30 attempts but we got there in the end!
Nearest metro stop: Darsena
