WE'RE BACK!!!
We love a quick city break and in the past we've always visited hot locations like Barcelona, Milan but decided to switch it up a but this time and headed to the freezing but beautiful Stockholm.
Lorraine has visited Sweden twice before (shout out to my girl Shin x) and fell in love so this break gave Amy a chance to see what all the hype was about.
TRAVEL
We flew from Gatwick to Arlanda Airport.
Took the Arlanda Express (Train) to Stockholm city centre - only takes 20minutes and is direct.
If you're flying from London too you'll be landing in terminal 5 so you need to go up to arrivals and then follow directions to the Train.
You'll need to buy your ticket before boarding the train but there are lots of machines on the platform and there will be an English option. We purchased a single '2 for 350 SEK' ticket which we definitely reommend doing if there is an even number of you going.
HOTEL
Best Western Hotel Bentleys
We'll be doing a separate post dedicated purely to the hotel.
LOCATIONS
Drottninggatan
This is a massive pedestrian only street located in the heart of Stockholm. There's loads of shops and restaurants located along the street which we loved because our hotel was conveniently located at the upper end.
Gamla Stan
This is where the Old Town of Stockholm is located. It is a kind of island so no matter where you look there are beautiful scenes! Like it's namesake the architecture in this location is very old but absolutely beautiful.
Vasastan
We love this location because the restuarants here are lushhhhh - our favourites were: Greasy Spoon, STHLTM TAPAS
Observatorielunden
Basically a massive park with a hill in the middle. We stumbled upon it on our walk to Greasy Spoon and the park looked so stunning covered in snow we just had to stop to take photos. Any excuse lol
METRO
We could talk about how amazing the metro art is F O R E V E R.
We were idiots and didn't use the metro till the last day so didn't have loads of time but we'd love to go back one day and spend a day getting out and different stations (maybe after a few cocktails) and seeing the artwork. The two stations we did visit are: T-Centralen and Solna Centrum
FOOD/DRINKS
OUTFITS
We'll be doing a separate post dedicated purely on what we wore.
Can't wait to share more details with you on our break!!
xxx
